Daniel Negreanu has posted a loss of $1.1 million for his 2022 WSOP campaign. The Canadian racked up only 12 cashes with four of those coming online. Only six of those were five figures making it a tough summer for the GGPoker ambassador.

Could’ve Been Better

There’s no doubt that Daniel Negreanu has been there and seen it all over his lengthy poker career but that’s still unlikely to soften the blow.

Most painfully, Negreanu didn’t reach a single final table for the first time since 2011. That one must hurt.

It has also been well-documented what happened during the $250,000 Super High Roller when he busted out following two bullets to a runner-runner flush against David Peters.

The tantrum that followed included throwing a selfie stick at the wall and slamming his vlogging equipment into the table leading Justin Bonomo to complain about his actions but mostly people seemed happy to see some passion.

Speaking to PokerNews after the series ended, Negreanu said: "I think I play better every WSOP with fewer and fewer mistakes. My process is to evaluate what worked and what didn't work, and I mean that primarily in terms of preparation rather than poker strategy. As in, what works to help me feel rested and at my best. That's improved every year and I'm dialed in on several key principles."

So the fight for a seventh bracelet continues. Surely it will come at some point.
