Instagram playboy Dan Bilzerian has said that billionaire Alec Gores is yet to “pony up” the cash for the highly anticipated $100 million heads-up match supposed to be taking place between the pair.
The GGPoker ambassador was at an event in Las Vegas in a professional capacity when he was asked to give a few words for the PokerNews team.
Will it Happen?
Dan Bilzerian insists that Gores called him out not once but twice, and he accepted both challenges. When asked about where it all stands right now, Bilzerian says he’s still trying to get the match off the ground and does think that it will eventually happen. The location was never confirmed but we did hear that the Aria Casino is the likely candidate. It is where the PokerGO Studio is set up to film high-stakes battles such as this one. Bilzerian said that he is keen to have the match streamed live which is something that will please many fans.
Whose Bankroll?
It’s impossible to know how much Dan Bilzerian is worth these days. He claims to have won between $40m to $50m from Alec Gores alone, and was estimated to have a fortune of more than $150m before taking this into account. Will Bilzerian be playing with $50 million of his own money or has he found backers?
We look forward to seeing if this match can be put together. Nothing has been said yet but surely Doug Polk will delight in the role of commentator for this one.
Fresh off of his win against Daniel Negreanu earlier this year, he will be able to accurately put Bilzerian’s game under the microscope which should lead to some interesting social media moments if the criticisms start to sting the playboy’s ego.
But we shouldn’t forget to applaud Dan Bilzerian’s willingness to make this show for us. Many refuse to believe that he built any part of his fortune from poker but here he is saying he’s prepared to let the world see in great detail just where he stands in the game. Bring it on!
