Nick Guagenti proved himself to be a master of the mixed game, scooping the top prize of $186,000 to go with his Poker Masters title...
There were a healthy 62 entries to the 8-Game event, number five on the 10-tournament schedule at the PokerGO studios in Vegas’ Aria casino.
With only nine posts paid, first order of day one was to bag some of the $620k prizemoney, and Carol Fuchs was the last player to miss out, a roller-coaster ride ending when her aces-up was beaten by Jacky Wang’s 6-high straight in a hand of Stud Hi-Lo.
PokerGO founder, Cary Katz, brought the chip lead into day two, while Brian Rast had less than 4 BBs, which didn’t last long as day two kicked off...

Jacky Wang has been there or thereabouts a number of times this series, and his 6th spot in the 8-game Mixed was worth $37,200. He was followed to the rail by Livingston in 5th ($49,600, but three $10k bullets) after the Canadian lost a monster pot to Katz.
Steve Zolotow was out next, the veteran sporting his Fu Manchu beard in fine style to take 4th and $62,000. Benjamin Diebold grinded his way to 3rd spot, eventually falling to Katz in a hand of Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or better, and that left Katz facing Guagenti heads-up.
A frustrated Katz saw his chip lead pulled back, and eventually got it all-in and at risk on a 50:50 after the flop...
Guagenti: Ah A♣ Q♥ 2♥

The open-ended didn’t come home though..

...and Guagenti had taken his first Poker Masters title and the $186,000 top prize.
