The 2023 World Series of Poker Main Event is the largest ever in history. With 10,043 entries, and a record first-place prize of $12,100,000, we have finally surpassed the 2006 edition for the largest winner’s prize and smashed the attendance record after coming so close in 2019 and 2022.

The 2023 WSOP Main Event final table action is scheduled for Sunday, July 16, and Monday, July 17 with many hours of play still expected to come.

The minimum payout for the remaining nine players is $900,000. Everyone else will leave as a millionaire if they’re not already — or at least until they pay their backers. Of course, the main focus of everybody at the table will be to get their hands on the record $12,100,000 top prize.

The next two days of action promise to be as entertaining as we can imagine with some great players still in the mix. Let’s take a look at who is still in with a shot of winning the biggest WSOP Main Event prize in history.

Seat 1: Steven Jones (75bb)

American Steven Jones is a 35-year-old non-pro player who has racked up a few impressive scores during his poker career. His day-to-day work is in the real estate sector while golfing provides a way to relax from the stresses of business when the Phoenix Suns and Detroit Lions aren’t playing.

Jones has had plenty of success in the World Series of Poker in the past. In fact, his first two live tournament cashes were WSOP scores with more coming every year since, including six in 2019.

With 75 big blinds remaining in his stack he has a great chance of finishing in one of the top spots.

Seat 2: Juan Maceiras (57bb)

Spaniard Juan Maceiras has a live tournament record of $1.1 million in live tournament winnings, stretching back all the way to 2006. Maceiras has had success on some significant stages in the past, including a fifth-place finish in the €10,400 European Poker Tour Grand Final in Madrid in 2011, for $467,532.

With 57 big blinds in his stack and a wealth of experience, Maceiras is well-prepared for the climax of the event.

Seat 3: Daniel Holzner (27bb)

Daniel Holzner is a 30-year-old Italian with more than a decade’s experience. That said, his live tournament record doesn’t go beyond $25K with only 13 cashes. But he has made it to the 2023 WSOP Main Event final table with 27 big blinds.

Holzner received his WSOP Main Event buy-in as a gift for his 30th birthday, and it’s his first time playing the event. He traveled to Las Vegas on June 20 to play some cash games before firing the WSOP Main Event.

Seat 4: Adam Walton (120bb)

Adam Walton is a long time pro with almost $1 million in live tournament winnings and the current chip leader with 120 big blinds. After completing his education in 2003, the American turned to the game full time just as the poker boom was beginning.

This also isn’t the first time that Walton has had success in the WSOP Main Event. He previously finished 42nd for $163,900 in 2021. His biggest tournament score came a year later when he finished runner-up in a $3,000 event at the WPT World Championship for $283,072.

Seat 5: Ruslan Prydryk (42bb)

Ukrainien Ruslan Prydryk is another part-time player and he has almost $462,000 in live tournament earnings with a single cash in previous WSOP events.

His biggest finish came in 2009 in the EPT Warsaw Main Event in Poland, where he finished fifth for $104,967. He also finished eighth in the €5,300 EPT Main Event in 2011 for $90,918.

With 42 big blinds he clearly has some work to do but anything is possible.

Seat 6: Dean Hutchison (35bb)

Scottish pro Dean Hutchison is another player with a healthy live tournament career record. Currently he has amassed $723,000 with at least $900K still to come from this event.

If Hutchison can pull this off, he will become the fifth consecutive European to win the WSOP Main Event. He'll enter the final two days of action with only 35 big blinds left in his stack .

This is Hutchison's fifth WSOP cash of the series and 18th overall, with his best result being a deep run in the 2020 WSOP Online $1,500 MILLIONAIRE MAKER.

One of his claims to fame is winning the 2014 UKIPT Edinburgh ÂŁ1,100 No-Limit Hold'em Main Event for ÂŁ93,900 after defeating Liv Boeree heads-up. If Hutchison reaches heads-up play in the WSOP Main Event, he will surpass fellow poker pro Niall Farrell and become the top player in the Scotland All-Time Money List. Major bragging rights

Seat 7: Toby Lewis (17bb)

Toby Lewis, another British pro, will return to the playing hall with only 17 big blinds, making him the shortstack. He is a well-known name in the poker world and currently ranks as the No. 8 player on England's all-time money list with more than $8 million in winnings from live events.

Lewis has had significant success during his career. He is an EPT Main Event winner and also won the 2018 Aussie Millions.

Even coming into the final two days as the short stack, Lewis will be many pundit’s dark horse to pull off an amazing recovery.

Seat 8: Daniel Weinman (68bb)

Daniel Weinman,is another experienced player to reach the 2023 WSOP Main Event final table. He is a WSOP gold bracelet winner, World Poker Tour (WPT) champion, and WPT Tournament of Champions winner.

With more than $3,700,000 in career live tournament earnings he will be one of the toughest players to beat, especially as he will return to the table with 68 big blinds, the third biggest stack.

Seat 9: Jan-Peter Jachtmann (62bb)

Although a part-time player, Jan-Peter Jachtmann has a great career record from years gone by. The 55-year-old has $1.9 million in live tournament winnings, including more than $900,000 at the WSOP, from almost 30 years of grinding. He also has one WSOP gold bracelet after taking down the $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship in 2012 for $661,000.

In 2011, Jachtmann also scored a deep run in the €10,350 WSOP Europe Main Event. An 11th-place finish for $66,466 and now he has gone one better.

Jachtmann will line up against his opponents with 62 big blinds; the fourth biggest stack.
