After the girls entertained the viewers a couple of nights ago it was the boy’s turn to fight in what turned out to be an incredible two nights of high-stakes poker.
Even though the game featured plenty of star players, there was no doubt that Tom Dwan was the guy most were tuning in to see, and, boy, he didn’t disappoint.
All-Star Lineup
The lineup on the first night was as tough as can be. Tom Dwan, Dan Smith, and Landon Tice were joined by Scott Seiver, Bruno Furth, Jake Daniels and Jesse Sylvia, to make a table where sparks were sure to fly.Dwan was fashionably late—many will attribute this to his psychological mastery—and only three minutes into the action he was already impressing the viewers with this fantastic call.
Dwan opens with Tc9s and Daniels calls in the BB with 8d5h. The pot is $2,400.
The flop comes down 9d 2d 7h.
Daniels checks and Dwan fires out a $1,800 bet. Daniels raises to $6,700 and Dwan calls.
The turn is the 4s.
Daniels follows through with a $10.8k bet and Dwan calls again.
The river is the Qc.
Daniels now incredibly jams the rest of his stick putting Dwan all-in for the rest of his $50k starting stack. And now the magic happens.
Looking half-asleep, Dwan ponders a situation he’s seen a million times before deciding he just doesn’t believe his opponent on a board where all the draws miss. Talk about laying a marker down for any rival that dares to pull off such audacity.
Day 2 saw live tournament star Jason Koon arrive for the party, and also Kristen Bicknell. Bicknell is on a roll with her career right now and it’s no surprise that she plumped for the biggest game instead of joining her female counterparts earlier on.
