Drake's successful betting redemption was largely due to Adesanya, who reclaimed the middleweight title with his victory over Pereira. Drake bet $500,000 on Adesanya to win and an additional $400,000 on the Nigerian-Kiwi to win by knockout. Adesanya came through on both fronts, earning Drake $885,000 and $1.8 million respectively.
This win was particularly sweet for both Drake and Adesanya, as the rapper lost $1.6 million in a previous bet on Adesanya, who was defeated by Pereira in November. However, Drake's previous bet on Adesanya, which was successful, earned him $1 million, breaking a long losing streak for the rapper known as the “Drake Curse.”
Adesanya gave a shoutout to all who bet on him after his victory over Pereira, acknowledging the risks he takes as a fighter when he steps into the octagon. He also credited crypto sportsbook operator Stake for his win, stating that they were "about to make another deal and get more money."
Drake's impressive betting success did not stop there. He also placed a $1 million bet on Gervonta Davis to defeat Ryan Garcia in a highly-anticipated catchweight fight. Davis ultimately won the fight by TKO in the seventh round after delivering a vicious body shot to Garcia.
Drake correctly predicted the outcome of the fight and won $1.38 million for his bet. However, he also placed three smaller bets on the exact round that Davis would win in, each of which were unsuccessful. Despite these missed predictions, he still earned a total of $1,335,000 on the night.
