Anyone looking for a casino to visit in the United States is likely to take a look at what’s on offer in Las Vegas and Atlantic City, but there’s plenty more choice out there, often a lot closer to home too.

Casino reviewers are always active in getting out there and reporting what their experiences were like and here’s a few of our own opinions for what are the best casinos outside of Las Vegas and Atlantic City.

Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino

The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel Casino has a real Las Vegas feel to it once you get inside. Flashing lights and slot machines beeping away in the midst of clouds of cigarette smoke.

The 140,000 Sq.ft gaming floor runs 24/7 with 90 traditional gaming tables and more than 2,200 slot machines.

For those interested in more than just gambling the days away, The resort has a busy entertainment calendar with plenty of amenities for relaxation such as a spa and swimming pool.

Foodies have more than 15 bars and restaurants to choose from with everything from fine dining to more relaxed choices.

Foxwoods Resort Casino

Foxwoods Resort Casino is the largest resort casino in North America spanning a whopping 9,000,000 Sq.ft. It features six individual casinos with more than 300 gaming tables to choose from. Visitors are actually recommended to carry a map around with them to avoid getting lost because it’s so big.

The resort is owned and operated by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation in Southeastern Connecticut, around 2.5 hour’s drive from New York City.

Foxwoods is also known as a poker hotspot in the area with plenty of well-attended tournaments scheduled throughout the week and cash games running around the clock.

Yaamava’ Resort and Casino

Opened as a bingo hall in 1986, the San Manuel Casino started life as a 100,000 Sq.ft property that also featured some slot machines and card games.

After becoming one of the most popular casinos in California, the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians rebranded the outfit to Yaamava’ Resort & Casino that now spans over 1.5 million Sq. ft.

More than 7,000 active slot machines fill the space with sound that can be heard across the 150-table gaming area. No other casino in The Western United States has as many slots as this resort.

The rooms at Yaamava’ Resort & Casino offer comfort in luxury surroundings with 24.hour room service always on hand to ensure a comfortable stay. Executive Chefs Everton Clarke and Matthew Smith recently joined the company bringing more than 25 years of culinary experience to an award-winning team.

Atlantis Casino Resort

The Atlantis Casino Resort is one of Reno’s best options in 2022. Truly one of Nevada’s premier gaming destinations. Blackjack, Craps, Baccarat, Roulette, Pai Gow Poker; it’s all there.

Atlantis was recently voted Best Video Slots by Casino Player Magazine and Loosest Slots by the Reno Gazette-Journal even with only 1,400 machines in operation.

The choice of restaurants ranges from a simple buffet to proper gourmet cuisine with something to suit all parties every day. The Atlantis steakhouse is particularly popular.

As you can see, there are plenty of casinos away from the hot spots of Sin City and New Jersey. It’s just a matter of deciding how far you want to travel and taking a shot at somewhere different.
