Day 2 of the biggest ever Venom tournament kicks off today. After four Day 1 starting flights, the remaining players are about to get down to business and fight over the $10 million up for grabs.
Last night saw close to 1,600 players battling in the final Day 1, meaning that the $10 million guarantee will not be broken—this time, at least.
Still the Biggest Ever ACR Tournament
The total number of entries for the Venom was 3,930, creating a prize pool of $9,825,000. That’s a decent overlay to be fighting over, for those players left in the event. And anyway, the $589,500 taken in rake will soften that blow. But even though the guarantee wasn’t broken, this will still be the most money paid out in a tournament on ACR.
Seven months ago we saw ACR offer a record $8 million guarantee, which ended up attracting 3,774 entries, comfortably breaking the guarantee, and paying out $9,435,000.
At 1pm ET the 645-entry field will sit down for approximately 11 hours of play, with Day 3 running tomorrow all the way down until the final table has been set. Wednesday, August 4, will see a late start of 5pm ET with play continuing until there is a winner.
