Despite facing disconnection issues due to a faulty internet connection, Tom Hall emerged victorious in $500 No Limit Hold'em - Deepstack - Online Bracelet Event 12, winning his first-ever WSOP bracelet and a prize of $176,920.
The Brit, known online as"lultaxpayers," had already cashed in seven events during the summer, including a third-place finish in a $500 PLO Online Event, which earned him $41,000.
Tom Hall's Journey to His First WSOP Bracelet
Hall's victory marks the fourth-largest score of his career and his most significant cash since 2018 when he placed fourth in a $5,300 PartyPoker Millions Event, taking home $394,965.During the final stages of the tournament, Hall experienced disconnection issues that threatened to derail his chances of winning the coveted gold bracelet. Disconnection problems are not uncommon in online poker events, especially when playing from a hotel room. Players have previously reported many similar issues on WSOP.com, with some resorting to using multiple internet connections to avoid risking their prize money when running deep.
Despite the technical difficulties, Hall managed to maintain his focus and secure a 2:1 chip lead during the heads-up battle against his final opponent, Daniel "DurdyDan512" Marin.
It only took 20 minutes for Hall to extend his lead to 5:1 before the final hand, where his ace-ten triumphed over Marin's queen-nine. The flop came ace high and a seven on the turn changed nothing, giving Hall the top prize and his first WSOP gold bracelet.
