PLO wizard Phil Galfond is still asking for new challengers to face him in the Galfond Challenge. The American appeared on a Joey Ingram podcast following his third match victory and reiterated that he’s ready to take on anybody in the world in a high stakes PLO duel.

Running Out of Options

It was always going to be difficult to find a long list of players suitable for the Galfond Challenge. Let’s face it, just how many elite PLO grinders are there in the world right now, before we even think of how many that can seriously challenge Galfond.

First came VeniVidi1993, who is a real high stakes crusher. After getting off to a great start in the first match he had the crowd shouting that Galfond was finished. With almost a €1 million lead many thought that the new generation had completed the takeover.

How wrong we were. An amazing comeback saw Galfond steal a match win by only €1,671.58.

Next up was ‘Actionfreak’ who didn’t do any better. Galfond was €114,765.66 up after 15,011 hands of €150/€300 and now really in the groove.

Chance Kornuth didn’t even finish his scheduled 35,000 hand challenge. After 25,400 hands of $100/$200 he capitulated while $726,500.00 in the red.

Bill Perkins dumped over $90,000 in 862 hands and doesn’t appear to be in a rush to add to his two sesion tally against the master.

So who is next?

Dan ‘Jungleman’ Cates has a micro challenge booked of only 7,500 hands. Brandon Adams has 40 hours of $100/$200 to come, but there is no inkling of a start date.

So now we are relying on the poker community to find new challengers, and hopefully somebody who will push Phil Galfond.

It’s been almost a month since the request for somebody else to step up to the plate was made. Has the 3/3 challenge score really scared everybody off now? We hope not.
