Landon Tice’s attempts to bridge a $720,000 gap in his highstakes online heads-up challenge match against Bill Perkins took another couple of unsteady steps this week, the young pretender following a $90k win with a $10k loss...

Tice has given Perkins odds of 9bb/100 in their two-table, $200/$400 HUNL battle over 20,000 hands on ACR – effectively a $720,000 headstart for the high-rolling poker amateur.

The pair have swapped session victories since the outset, though a big hit from Tice this week put him on course to meet his tricky pre-profit target...

Perkins is no mug when it comes to poker, however, with plenty of experience on the live and virtual felt to fall back on, as well as the fact that $100k here or there is mere pocket change to a man who made $millions trading oil futures.

He doesn’t give money away for no good reason, though, and in session 8 he was back to the grind – a “slow” day according to Tice with a $10k+ swing in Bill’s favour.

Tice’s life is currently dominated by the match according to his Twitter feed – which he recently vowed he’d avoid during the challenge – the young pro tweeting out..

“Day in the Life: Wake up, Create “Garbage Smoothie” of random ingredients in fridge, Pep talk on various life related things, Study HUNL Play HUNL Review HUNL garage, gym, Find updates of MTTs I’ve decided to skip while being inside, Order food, Hot tub, Sleep, Repeat.”
