Americas CardRoom is tickled pink to be involved in Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October, the popular cardroom running a special $10k GTD tournament to raise awareness and matching entries up to $20k with a donation.
ACRâs logo is sporting a pink slash and ribbon to highlight the importance of October in the fight against a cancer that will affect 1 in every 8 women.
Thatâs 300,000 women in the USA this year alone, and ACR pros Katie Lindsay and Ana Marquez are teaming up to do their bit to fight it.
âIâm so happy to be able to support the United Breast Cancer Foundation thanks to the help of my friends and ACR. I love that they offer holistic approaches to healing and helping as many cancer survivors as possible,â said Lindsay this week.
$10k GTD and $55 free ticket for women
Lindsay will be playing the special Breast Cancer Awareness Charity tournament on ACR tomorrow, Wednesday, October 12th at 4:30pm ET.
The tourney has a guaranteed $10,000 prize pool and the buy-in is just $55, and itâs open to all, although for women it will be pretty much a freeroll as they will receive a $55 tournament ticket after the event.
The big difference between this tournament and most others is that ACR will be making a donation to the United Breast Cancer Foundation in the amount of the total prize pool (up to a maximum of $20,000).
ACRâs Head of Sponsorship, Mel Moser, said breast cancer statistics for women in the US were a motivation for the company to get involved and offer support.
Moser explained: âStatistics say that close to 300,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in the US this year alone. ACR wants to help change this statistic and alleviate the suffering that accompanies it.
âWe are happy to support this tournament and think it will be a great event, and are excited for people to have fun while raising money for an excellent cause.â
TwitchTV livestream with Nikki Limo
There will be a Twitch livestream hosted by YouTuber and Influencer Nikki Limo, with special guests including reality TV star and Playboy model Trishelle Cannatella, as well as Lindsay and fellow ACR Ana Marquez.
Funds raised by the event mean that âover 100 women will receive the care they need through United Breast Cancer Foundation's program services,â according to the UBCF, who have been a platinum-rated and trusted charity serving the community for over 22 years.
The UBCF stated: âWe are proud to partner with Americas Cardroom this October for Breast Cancer Awareness month. Americas Cardroom is committed to supporting breast cancer patients and survivors. They will generously donate a minimum of $10,000 from their online streaming, âBreast Cancer Awareness Tourneyâ.â
