Malaysia’s Wai Kin Yong has won the $30k Triton Poker London Short Deck Ante event for $350,000. He ripped through the final table in record time to claim his fourth Triton Poker title.
The event had 24 players buy in with 13 re-entries to make a prize pool of $1,110,000. But because of the small number of players in the event, only seven would win a prize, making for one of the most tense bubble periods we have seen during the series in London.
Eight players shared the table for several hours—each of them displaying incredible patience. Eventually, the stacks all got short, leaving each player with minimal options, and it was Daniel Dvoress that succumbed and made his way to the rail.
With only seven players remaining and each having a short stack, it didn’t take long for Yong to sweep his opponents aside. He even sealed the deal before his wife arrived to see him challenge for victory.
This win marks the end of a four-year drought after Yong won the Triton Poker London Main Event in 2019.
He said: “It’s crazy. I just kept winning every hand. It was pretty insane. I told him [good friend Danny Tang] yesterday, I’m going to get my fourth one tomorrow.”
