ShareACR has announced that The Cage Live will be returning to San Jose, Costa Rica. The cash game/tournament fusion is set to take place at the plush Sheraton Hotel from Wednesday, August 16 through Saturday, August 19. Normal cash game rules are in play but the blinds increase periodically, steadily making it too hot to handle for more and more players.
The format is easy to understand but the idea remains original to ACR. Players buy into the game for $5,250 and sit with 5,000 chips. That might sound like plenty of chips, but when the blinds start shooting up like in a tournament things change quickly.
Players who are knocked out on Day 1 are allowed a single rebuy into the event. But the catch is that cashing out early isn’t allowed—players must wait until Day 2, hence the moniker “the Cage”.
Chris Moneymaker, ACR Pro and poker legend, said: “After awarding recent packages to great destinations like Cyprus, Vietnam, London, Uruguay and Las Vegas, it’s great to welcome players back to Costa Rica. There is going to be exciting action, both on and off the felt, starting with the player party with free drinks on opening night.”

36 $8,700 packages were laid on by ACR. Players can buy in directly for $95 or qualify through The Beast weekly leaderboard.
Each package includes a buy-in worth $5,250 and five nights accommodation at the Sheraton Hotel. $800 for airline tickets is provided and $1,000 for spends is also waiting for you. ACR is even handing over $400 to play cash games on the side if you get knocked out early.
