Santhosh Survana has won Event #12: €50,000 NLH Diamond High Roller at the World Series of Poker Europe 2023.
The Dubai-based Indian entrepreneur has hit the high-stakes poker scene with a bang over the last year, making waves in one major series after another.
Two cashes in 2017 and another two in 2020 were his entire live tournament record until the start of last year.
Almost half a million in winnings came during 2022 and now he has racked up a whopping $6 million during 2023. A fantastic performance.
Survana banked €650,000 for winning the Diamond High Roller after knocking out China’s Ren Lin heads-up at a tough final table that included Chris Brewer and Daniel Dvoress.
Taking on the Very Best
To come out of nowhere and take on the very best that poker has to offer is some achievement. And to do it with one of the most relaxed demeanors you’ll ever see at a high-stakes poker table is unheard of. Absolutely nothing knocks this man out of his stride.Speaking to Pokerguru last year, Survana said:
“It’s really a great and an amazing experience playing with top poker players and super high rollers. I am really enjoying high roller poker tournaments here and along the way, made all very good friends with people around the world.”
So how did he do it? By osmosis, apparently. The talented Survana just rocked up to high-stakes tables and learned from the best by watching and playing with them.
And there’s going to be more of his on our screens, too. After his victory he said he would be traveling to every major poker festival on the calendar, including next month's trip to the Bahamas for the WSOP Paradise series.
On December 1, he will also be stopping by the Hustler Casino Live 24-Hour Cash Game. If that’s not worth checking out, we don’t know what will be.
