Belarus highstakes pro, Mikita Badziakouski, scooped the biggest payday of the Triton Madrid Series so far, pocketing €1,340,000 for taking down the €50k 7-handed NLHE event 6 ahead of the likes of Phil Ivey and Fedor Holz.

The massive €50k buy-in didn’t seem to put off the highrollers in Madrid, with 56 unique entries and 45 re-entries producing a prizepool that just edged over the €5million mark.
With 13 paid spots, the 23 players who survived day one included Patrik Antonius, Stephen Chidwick and Erik Seidel, though none of this trio would make the money. In the end, Poland’s Wiktor Malinowski would bubble the cash, leaving the lucky 13 to count at least €101k.
Phil Ivey fell in 11th place, pocketing the same €108,600 as Adrian Mateos, and Linus Loeliger was the man who bubbled the official final table, though €187,000 was fair compensation.
Bruno Volkmann’s elimination in 6th place was a brutal one, the Brazilian losing all but 3BBs in the following hand...
Tang: K♥ J♥
Holz: A♦ K♦
Volkmann: Q♥ Q♣
Flop: K♣ 2♠8♥
Turn: 2♣
River: J♦
To add insult to injury, Holz then produced pocket queens of his own to take those remaining Volkmann chips!
Tang used his rather fortunate triple-up to great effect, disposing of first Paque, then Watson, before coolering Fedor Holz with A♦ K♠against the German’s A♣ Q♥.
Heads-up was a tough battle, Tang and Badziakouski failing to agree a deal and then slugging it out for more than an hour, Tang on the verge of victory several times.
But Belarus’ top player is a tough cookie and he fought back, doubling up twice to regain the lead and eventually finished off the comeback with pocket nines holding against the king-deuce of clubs...
After around 2 hours of heads up play, Mikita Badziakouski is victorious over Danny Tang in Event #6 €50,000 NLH-7, earning himself €1,340,000 and the coveted Triton Trophy.
