Josh Arieh has taken down Event 80: $25,000 H.O.R.S.E. High Roller to win his sixth WSOP bracelet and a $711,313 first-place prize. The American outlasted a tough field of 112 players with many shouting out his worthiness for a future slot in the Poker Hall of Fame.
This win is Arieh's second success in the 2023 WSOP after dominating Event 22: $10,000 Limit Hold'em Championship for his fifth bracelet.
Player of the Year Challenger?
With these two wins under his belt, Arieh has now climbed to second place in the WSOP Player of the Year race, trailing only Ian Matakis.When asked about his feelings after securing his sixth bracelet, Arieh expressed his excitement, saying:
"I'm so stoked. It was a tough field, and I was the last person to go on a heater. I feel amazing, and I'm very fortunate."
Arieh's latest win has also sparked calls for Caesars and the WSOP to induct him into the Poker Hall of Fame. Although voting for this year's honour has already concluded, Arieh's achievements have garnered significant support from the poker community.
Throughout his career, Arieh has won a massive total of $11,595,493 from live tournament earnings, with $8,598,231 of his winnings coming from WSOP events.
