Canada’s Jordan Saccucci has bagged the EPT Prague Main Event for €913,250, defeating two-time WSOP Main Event final tablist Antoine Saout to win the record-breaking event.
Prague’s Hilton Hotel welcomed 1267 entries to the €5,300 buy-in Main Event, a record for the regular EPT stop in the Czech capital, with a monster €6,144,950 prizepool.
It took 6 days to whittle the field down to just four players, with Parker Talbot falling to end day 5...
Parker Talbot: K♠ K♦
Jordan Saccucci: 9♦ 9♣
Flop: 9♥ 6♦ 3♣
Turn: Q♣
River: 5♠
A huge payday of €278,450 for Parker but there was much more up top, seven-figures awaiting the winner sans deal, and it only took one hand of day 6 to deny Jun Obara a shot at that.
Pocket kings fared better this time as all the chips went in on the flop...
Jun Obara: K♣ J♦
Jordan Saccucci: K♠ K♥
Flop: 10♠ J♣ 7♣
Turn: 8♦
River: K♦
♥ ♦ ♣ ♠
A tough three-way battle ensued, but eventually Hungarian hotel owner Istvan Pilhofer had to give best, losing a race when the flop smacked Saout square in the face...
Istvan Pilhofer: A♥ 9♦
Antoine Saout: 2♥ 2♣
Flop:6♣ 2♦ 8♣
Turn: 8♥
River: J♦
♥ ♦ ♣ ♠
Heads-up saw Saout and Saccucci agree a deal, locking up €800,000 each and playing it out for €113,250 and the EPT Main Event trophy.
Saout was the one with the experience of such high-level tension, having come 3rd in the 2009 WSOP Main Event for $3,479,670 and then taken 5th spot and $2,000,000 at the 2017 WSOP Main Event.
33-year-old Toronto man Saccucci was unfazed, however, and quickly took the chip lead before finishing things off with a timely fortunate flop.
Antoine Saout: 6♥ 6♣
Saccucci: A♦ 3♣
Flop: 4♠ 3♠ 3♣
Turn: 9♥
River: 9♠

Speaking after his epic victory, Saccucci told Joe Stapleton: “It was a roller coaster! Ups and downs, got lucky a few times. But it was good, I enjoyed it and I had fun.”
