Jonathan Jaffe has won the WPT Alpha8 event for $1,537,600. The $111,111 buy-in tournament saw 45 players sign up to create a $4,612,500 prize pool at the Wynn Las Vegas.

The remaining field returned on Sunday to play out the final table action where Jonathan Jaffe hit his career best score, taking his live career earnings past $9 million. The other winner in this event was, of course, the One Drop Foundation. A part of every tournament buy-in was donated to the charity that aims to provide clean drinking water around the world to those who need it.

Speaking after his victory, Jaffe said: â€śFeeling good!. I’m still going to wait before I process the win. I’m still kind of in poker mode and just going through the motions right now but I know I will feel good.”

Although there were very few amateurs in the field of 45 players, it must feel good to have come out on top of players such as Dan Smith and Ike Haxton who also made the final table.

WPT CEO Adam Pliska said: “Congratulations to Jonathan on his momentous victory, and thank you to all the players who entered in support of the One Drop Foundation. The funds raised will ultimately aid many communities in need. We cannot wait to return to the beautiful Wynn Las Vegas to raise even more with the Big One for One Drop in December.”
