It was back to 4-card final table action as event 8 of the US Poker Open reached a climax, and it was Jared Bleznick who walked off with the title and a $189,000 payday...

Having played down from an initial Bleznick took the chip lead into the final table of six, those left in contention guaranteed at least $37k for their efforts so far, and it was Frank Crivello who would take that first cash of the day.

Joseph Sanders followed him to the rail after Maxx Coleman turned a flush, while Ali Imsirovic grabbed 4th place and $63,000, despite admitting knowing next to nothing about Pot Limit Omaha...

The podium placings still had to be decided, and Christopher Usude had to settle for 3rd, although having once described poker as “just a game I play on the side” it was his biggest cash to date.

The part-owner of a private jet company based out of Beverly Hills, Usude fell to Coleman who yet again hit a turned flush, leaving him heads-up against Bleznick for the title.

It was to be Bleznick’s day, however, slowly chipping up and eventually disposing of Coleman’s challenge to bag the $189,000 top prize as well as a bundle of leaderboard points.

His post-win interview, however, was one of a kind, Bleznick claiming that poker doesn’t do anything for him and that “sports cards is just the greatest business in the world!”
