Alexander Tkatschew has won the EPT Cyprus $25,000 NLHE I event, the first of six such tournaments in the series. The Austrian topped a field of 59 players who built a prize pool of $1,416,590 to be split between the top eight finishers.

Tkatschew earned himself a prize of $432,090 after defeating Teun Mulder from the Netherlands heads-up.

Russia’s Artur Martirosian finished in third place in front of Sam Grafton from England who was lucky enough to ladder up with short stacks busting at the right moments.

Tkatschew sat down to play at the final table as the chip leader and never looked back. He knocked out four of his opponents before a clean run to the winner’s trophy.

Oleg Semionov Wins EPT Cyprus $10,200 Mystery Bounty

Lithuanian Oleg Semionov has taken down the $10,200 Mystery Bounty event at the EPT Cyprus.

After a gruelling Day 2, Semionov emerged as the most deserving winner and collected the top prize of $127,900 which amounted to $192,900 when the bounties were added.

A total of 102 players challenged for the winner’s trophy and the biggest slice of the $989,400 prize pool which was divided up into $479,400 for the top 13 finishers and $510,000 worth of bounties.

This was Semionov’s first live tournament victory and it turns out that it was on familiar territory. The Merit Royal Diamond Hotel Casino & Spa is where he sometimes used to travel to play.

“Sometimes we play poker home games, and sometimes I come here to Merit to play – but mostly cash games, not really tournaments. We used to have offices in Larnaca, so that’s why.”

“It’s nice to win. To win a tournament is probably the best feeling in poker. And it’s a good prize, so even better.”
