David Yan has banked $3,052,002 after taking down the $200,000 Triton Poker Super High Roller London NL 8-Max event.

The tournament kicked off in the background as all eyes were really focused on the upcoming $250,000 NL Luxon Invitational which promised to showcase a proper who’s who of top level poker alongside many big names in the high stakes scene who are politely categorised as VIPs.

The 8-Max event attracted 51 players who added another 30 in rebuys to build a prize pool of $16,200,000. This was shared among the top 13 finishers.

Incredibly, 46 out of the original 51 starters were still in the mix as Day 2 kicked off. This made for a slow start to the action as all the players wanted to make it worth their while for coming in to play.

Steadily, though, as the stacks got shorter and shorter, players began to head to the rail one-by-one and soon there were only four left. It was at this point a discussion started over a deal but no agreement could be made.

But when Timothy Adams was on his way out, the remaining three quickly struck a deal and then played it out for the viewers and the bragging rights.

David Yan, Nacho Barbero, and, once again, Espen Jørstad, got stuck into each other in what turned out to be a fast-paced, topsy-turvy final session which ultimately saw Yan emerge as the champion.
