Bratislava Poker Festival Kicks Off

The €1M GTD Grand Prix Bratislava Poker Festival has kicked off in the Slovakian capital, backed up by the team that puts together the fantastic Irish Poker Tour. Six days of action are scheduled which will be crowned by the PartyPoker LIVE €500,000 GTD Grand Prix.

The events will be played out at Slovakia’s largest casino, The Card Casino, which is situated only a minute’s drive from the airport, straight down the Danube.

This promises to be an epic week of poker with more than 150 tables spread across the venue.

Fintan Gavin, Irish Poker Tour CEO was bullish about the upcoming week in the run up to the first event: "We're ready to bring the magic of Irish Poker to the heart of Europe. We know what players want, and we're ready to give it to them."

The €550 buy-in €500,000 GTD PartyPoker LIVE Grand Prix is the event that everyone has their eyes on. It costs €550 to enter directly but there are a plethora of satellites running around the clock to get in for a cutdown price, both online on PartyPoker and at the casino.

The action will start with an ultra-deep format with 40,000 chips for each player and blinds of 100/100 with a big blind ante of 100.

Another highlight of the festival is the Euro Omaha Championship, which has a buy-in of €2,500. This will be one of the biggest PLO events of the year and it has a €100,000 guarantee.

The €3,000 High Roller runs on July 22-23 with a massive €200,000 guarantee.
