The 2023 WSOP Paradise series is almost upon us, kicking off in less than two weeks. In only a matter of a few months we have had the annual pilgrimage to Las Vegas for the WSOP followed by the WSOP Europe in Rozvadov, Czechia.
Now it’s time to head over to The Bahamas for the inaugural WSOP Paradise at Atlantis Paradise Island from December 3-14.
With more than $51 million in guarantees, we can be sure that the elite will be making the trip to put on a show as they battle for the 15 gold bracelets up for grabs.
Daniel Negreanu Ends His Rest and Makes the Trip
Only a couple of months ago, Daniel Negreanu was tweeting about how 2023 was likely to be the worst year of his entire poker career. He planned a month of rest and promised us he’d be making the trip to The Bahamas.
Now, in a short interview with PokerNews, he’s revealed that he’ll be playing all of the events!
“Absolutely! I plan to play all the events, and it’s a great schedule because there is some time off in between events to enjoy the vacation.”
He also promised that he’ll be vlogging his exploits every day, bringing his cameraman with him.
First up at the WSOP Paradise will be the trendy Mystery Millions with a $5,000,000 guarantee. The action then builds up through the first week when the Ultra High Roller No-Limit Hold'em kicks off on the same day as the $15,000,000 GTD Main Event.
There will be plenty more of your favourite players arriving at Atlantis Paradise Island any day now.
Of course, 17-time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth will be attending, attempting to stretch his record even further.
Shaun Deeb has also confirmed he will be playing, as will Indian businessman Santhosh Survana who has been setting the high-stakes scene alight recently.
WSOP WPT EPT Clash
While a trip to The Bahamas might sound nice for any poker player who likes to travel, a scheduling jam has left many players with a somewhat difficult choice.
You see, somehow the WSOP, WPT, and EPT organisers have all managed to schedule major series at the same time.
The WSOP definitely does have a prestige that is unrivalled, but the WPT World Championship with its $40 million guarantee has become an eye-catching event that the big hitters don’t want to miss.
A recent X/Twitter poll showed that 62.5% of players who responded would prefer to head to Las Vegas to support the WPT.
