0Human0 is the username of Romanian poker pro - Liviu Ignat on PokerStars. He made his name by playing high-stakes No-Limit Hold 'em and Pot-Limit Omaha games on PokerStars and Full Tilt, and he was once regarded as Romanian best online poker player.
The Rise
He started playing poker back in 2007 after hearing from friends that it was an excellent way to make an extra income. 0Human0 first deposited $250 in Full Tilt Poker, and by the end of 2007, he had lost everything. However, he decided to deposit $250 again, but this time around on PokerStars and started grinding No-Limit Hold'em $0.10/$0.25 stakes.By January 2008, he was playing $0.50/$1.00 and $2/$4 stakes during summer, and as the year ended, he had reached $5/$10 stakes. He continued moving up in stakes to $10/$20, and he eventually became a regular at $25/$50 stakes in 2010. He began playing $25/$50 Pot-Limit Omaha after growing his bankroll tremendously. In 2011 0Human0 was among the most prominent online poker winners and had amassed over $900,000 profit.
According to 0Human0, who used to be an engineering student, comprehending poker's mathematical aspects is crucial, and it's more necessary to cope with the spontaneity of the game mainly while playing online than any statistical study. 0Human0's passion for strategy games like StarCraft allowed him to learn and perfect the game of poker to play at the highest stakes available.
0Human0 also created a Romanian poker training website, Setunderset.ro, to assist other aspiring Romanian poker players in learning advanced strategies of the game. Liviu Ignat and other Romanian pro friends filmed training videos that they subsequently freely distributed.
When 0Human0 was at the top of his game in 2012, he could brag about a $2.2million profit graph mostly playing high stakes PLO games on PokerStars and Full Tilt; using the screen name 'mimimi.'
Downward Spiral
While his rise from $10/$20 limits to $200/$400 PLO games was meteoric, his fall was just as quick and cruel as variance eventually caught up with him half a decade later, and his losses demonstrate how tough it is to keep up with the title of world's finest cash game player."The variance turned against me and I went back down. At that time I decided that I would get out of the PLO Nosebleed limits as soon as I reached the break-even point. And that eventually happened. I was disciplined enough not to hope for a further upswing." Liviu Ignat commented about his downswing.
He was forced to move down to $25/$50 and $50/$100 stakes, having lost over $2.2 million after a massive downswing, and his depleted bankroll could not allow him to compete in nosebleed stakes.
