This week it will be time to shuffle up and deal as the first event of the World Series of Poker 2021 gets underway. After missing 2020 because of the pandemic, it will almost be business as normal, bar the vaccine mandate.

Thousands of poker players are expected to make the trip to the Nevada desert, many of them heading directly to the same hotel where they stay every year.

So, where are the best places to stay during the WSOP? It obviously depends on budget and needs, but there are a few places that stand out in the city. Here are some recommendations.

High Roller - The Venetian Resort

If it’s luxury you want, then you needn’t look any further than the Venetian. There are other choices of similar quality, such as the Bellagio and Wynn, but it’s just so rare to see anybody finding anything at all to complain about when they stay in the Las Vegas Sands Corp. showpiece property.

The location is perfect; little more than a one mile walk to the Rio where the WSOP will be taking place.

More than 20 different restaurants, offering world-class dishes, sit alongside theme-driven replicas of a land far away. Think gondola rides and St. Mark’s Square; you really have to see it to believe it.

For sure it’s pricey, but what do you expect if you want the very best that Las Vegas has to offer.

Mid-Range - New York New York

As the name suggests, the New York New York resort is all about the Big Apple—this is as American as you can get. It might not have the same level of glitz and glamour as the Venetian but this is still a great choice out of the mid-range properties.

The location sits nicely on the corner of Tropicana Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard. A perfect place at the southern end of the Strip where you can explore the many other resorts nearby.

The food options aren’t as plentiful as the more upmarket resorts but there’s still enough choice for the average holidaymaker. Various shops and bars are located around the area, making it easy to find whatever you’re looking for.

Budget - Luxor

Also situated at the southern end of the Strip, the Luxor Resort has long offered amazing value for a very reasonable price. Maybe classifying this resort as budget is a stretch, but many insist that you get more than what you paid for.

The resort has an ancient Egyptian theme, boasting 4,400 rooms and 487 suites. The casino is enormous at 120,000 square feet and has everything you need to wind down. The decor is certainly a bit dated compared to many other properties in the area but not so bad as to make it a reason to avoid staying here.

There’s Always the Rio

If you’re in town for the WSOP and aren’t interested in anything else then you can always try and get a room at the Rio All-Suite, where the festival is being held. It’s not everybody’s thing to be staying in the same place where they’re playing but it’s always an option.
