Phil Ivey is to play a $200/$400 high-stakes cash game at the Hustler Casino in Los Angeles. The man whose arrival in Las Vegas is more anticipated than any other player will be squaring up against a lineup that includes fellow legend Garrett Adelstein and Tom Dwan.

The Hustler Casino is going to be streaming all of the action on its YouTube channel, along with top-notch commentary from Bart Hanson and Nick Vertucci.

We’re hoping that both Ivey and Adelstein can put on a show for us in the run up to the high-roller events at the World Series of Poker where we expect, at least Ivey, to be making an appearance.

Ivey also made an appearance on Daniel Negreanu’s DAT podcast back in May, where he made it clear that he still has a great passion for the yearly pilgrimage to Nevada. He said that it was only his personal troubles over the last couple of years that prevented him from playing more often.

These troubles are, of course, the well-publicised edge sorting scandal where he took both the Borgata Casino, New Jersey, and Crockfords of London to school, winning well into eight figures. Unfortunately for him, the courts in both jurisdictions disagreed with his methods and demanded that he forfeit the winnings.

We are eagerly anticipating Ivey’s return to the greatest poker show on Earth.
