It appears that any hope self-confessed cheat Ali Imsirovic had of being quickly accepted back into the poker community after admitting to multi-accounting have been dashed after it emerged he used the nickname “MultiAccount” among dozens of fake player accounts...

Imsirovic finally broke his silence this week after more than a year of accusations following Alex Foxen outing the Bosnian-American highstakes pro as one of the most egregious banned cheats on GGPoker.

Imsirovic admitted to two periods of multi-accounting but denied live cheating, ghosting his horses and many other accusations, claiming he has “paid his dues” after GGPoker confiscated the $320,000 in his account following the 2020 ban.

However, the poker community at large have been dismissive of Imsirovic’s confession, feeling he not only dismissed the severity of his transgressions and perhaps lied about other cheating. Irish pro David K Lappin was quick to parody the situation...

Meanwhile, the list of names provided to Tim Cramer (whose source wishes to remain anonymous, rather than being anonymous, as the tweet suggests) makes for an interesting graph when matched to GGPoker winnings...

Imsirovic claimed he multi-accounted for about 4 or 5 months during the early stages of the pandemic, when poker moved almost exclusively online.

He revealed: “We were all playing a ridiculous amount of buy-ins every day and I ended up making a mistake, a really bad mistake, and began multi-accounting MTTs...”

His excuse for this was that “a lot of shady shit happening in those games,” claiming that other players were “card-sharing, multi-ing and working as teams.”

Although several times admitting that “it doesn’t excuse what I did,” Imsirovic’s partial confession has rung hollow with many of his fellow pros.

  • “I’ve seen 11-year-old kids with better excuses. Hardly an apology. Rate the apology 1 napkin out of 5.” Jason Glatzer
  • “Everyone was cheating so I did it too; It’s impossible to build a perfect MTT RTA so I didn't cheat; I can easily beat 215s online so I didn't ghost my horses.” Jans Arends.
  • “Say what you will about Ali but the screen name “MultiAccount” while multiaccounting is objectively pretty great.” Amit Makhija
