If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to burn through your bankroll without touching a penny of it, Chris Moorman has a story that will leave your mouth wide open – hitting his $1million monthly transfer limit and watching 90% of it go up in smoke...

The winningest online English pro of all time with close to $20million in MTT earnings, “moorman1” was chatting to former WSOP Main Event Champion Martin Jacobson, neither man a stranger to huge paydays.

Having made a small fortune winning online, Moorman diversified into staking other players, but as the clip above shows that had its problems too.

A huge win at the 2012 EPT Monte Carlo for one of his “horses” – Mohsin Charania – saw $1million or so in his stable account, but Moorman got a shock when he started transferring it out for other horses to play.

The message we all hate to receive – “You’ve hit your monthly transfer limit of $1million – soon appeared, and unfortunately for Chris it wasn’t a good month for the players he was staking."

"I probably only got about $100k back”, he revealed, and then it was time to dig into the reserves. “The World Series was happening...I guess I’m going all-in and started emptying my bank account.”

The 36-year-old Englishman’s former roommate, Steven Holloway, once quoted Moorman as stating “It [staking other players] got to the point where my poker didn’t matter. I remember winning a tournament for over $100k on a Sunday and losing money on the day.

He added: “It was a bit out of control – I was investing so much more into other people than myself. Good or bad days weren’t determined by me, but other people.”

Moorman has since focused much more on his own play, bagging live and online WSOP bracelets, as well as a $1million scoop of the 2014 WPT LA Poker Classic. His live earnings of $6.3million plus change may be nowhere near his $20million online winnings, but it’s an impressive sum by anyone’s standards.
