Jordan Saccucci, the 2022 EPT Prague Main Event winner, has been booted out of the WSOP Paradise series running in the Bahamas.

The 33-year-old Canadian was recently arrested for allegedly taking part in a series of burglaries across 30 homes in Mississauga, Hamilton, Oakville and Burlington.

A police statement read:

“The suspects may approach the front door of residences during daytime hours with their identities concealed using surgical masks or face coverings, and wear hoods and gloves.

“If confronted by homeowners, the suspects may provide an unconvincing excuse pertaining to some sort of construction or landscaping service before quickly departing.”

Saccucci has denied all of the charges after being arrested on December 5 with his alleged fellow suspect 41-year-old Dumark Lindsay. He is currently released on bond.

In a statement issued to PokerNews, Saccucci said:

“Yes, I have a past but I’m sure everyone does. I ain’t perfect but the truth is I haven’t been convicted for anything like this since 2016 which is seven years ago.”

He added that previous charges were found to have been falsified:

“Halton and Peel regional police have charged me in the past and I was found not guilty. Two officers on the police force were found guilty of lying under oath and were suspended two months without pay, and there is also record of that.“

Saccucci also took offense to previous articles from the poker media highlighting charges from 2021, which were eventually thrown out of court.

He was arrested under suspicion of being part of a ten-man gang who broke into countless houses during the pandemic in 2020 and 2021. It was alleged that this was a pattern stretching back as far as 2015.

After competing on Day 1B of the WSOP Paradise Main Event, Saccucci was removed from the premises of the Atlantis Paradise Island Casino. No doubt aiming to avoid a scandal.

The WSOP took no part in the decision but agreed to back it. No reason for Saccucci eviction from the premises was made public.

Saccucci rose to fame in the poker world after taking down the 2022 EPT Prague for $962,126 and his career earnings currently sit at $1,366,385.
