Doug Polk is upset that the long-running partypoker FastForward saga has somehow ended up with him in the villain’s role, despite doing his best to get the problem sorted!
Just stumbled across this reddit thread and I have to say, I am pretty annoyed.https://t.co/Nn7W3rUd0L

The Party Poker button issue was brought to my attention. At that point I could do one of 2 things.
1) Do nothing
2) Contact Rob Yong at Party to try and fix the issue.
partypoker have been getting pelters from the poker community for a few months now due to a software bug in their FastForward game, which sees players in the cut-off (and button when three-handed) receive far fewer hands.
That, according to the experts as well as the calculations of those affected, has cost some players 5-figure sums, while $millions in total has been lost, mostly by regs and most of it going to recs.
Polk used his position in the industry to try to get something done about the bug, contacting Rob Yong although he had no personal reason to get involved in the matter.
That, it seems, wasn’t good enough for some, with Reddit user “Justin /nostalgic-goldfish” stating that although he was glad that Polk got involved initially: “What I did not expect, however, was you to unequivocally and effusively praise partypoker and Rob Yong for how they handled the situation.”
He added in a lengthy post: “Describing Partypoker's reaction to the scandal, you said "Partypoker is putting their best foot forward. This is ludicrous. Partypoker's handling of this situation has been abhorrent, egregious, and downright criminal.”
Strong words, and partly based on partypoker’s seeming ambivalence towards compensating players affected.
Another poster made similarly harsh claims: “I say that party did this intentionally because although it is unlikely the issue was inserted intentionally, when they found out that their software was scamming players they did nothing about it...”
partypoker allegedly, “... didn't inform players, didn't compensate players but continue to run the games for at least 5 months with full knowledge of the fact that players were getting scammed out of money. At that point it became intentional.”
Polk tweeted out several times, insisting: “I have long fought for player rights and protections. I’m not defending Party. My point remains truthful: I am glad they hopped on fixing this issue so quickly after I brought this to their attention. I also hope they do right by the players that were effected [sic].”
partypoker themselves have been very quiet about the issue, which is reportedly now fixed after Polk brought it to the attention of head honcho Rob Yong. Their sole statement on the matter has been a Discord server announcement, which reads: “We have optimised the seating logic of our Fast Forward games to improve player experience. We continually review this and all other aspects of our games and we remain fully committed to upholding the integrity of our games.”
