ShareDoug Polk and Mike Matusow are ready to go to war in another high stakes heads-up showdown.
Matusow posted an innocent tweet asking his followers if he should start a coaching site for Omaha Hi/Lo, Stud Hi/Lo, or even mixed games, then Polk cheekily replied that he would “like to report a crime”.
Challenge Issued!
It only took a few hours, possibly even seconds if Matusow replied immediately after reading Polk’s tweet, before a challenge was issued.
Polk was quick to reply, too, offering Matusow the chance to travel to The Lodge Card Club to play.
“How about 1k/2k. Would love to host you for this game at the lodge!”Poker fans in the thread couldn’t believe their luck. There wasn’t a person watching the threads pop up that didn’t want to see these two get it on.
Weirdly, Matusow was up for the venue but against having the match streamed and having his play broken down. Why talk about a coaching site to play these games but then back away from having your game analysed?
Polk fired back:
“You wanted to teach people how to play for money, and now you don't want to stream it? I'm sure you will get some instant customers and credit if you play well. Do it for the fans. We aren't going to play more than a couple sessions anyway.”That certainly got Matusow riled up and he confidently declared he will take $1 million from Polk.
A quick poll revealed that almost 50% think Polk would win such a match while 27% backed Matusow.
If it doesn’t happen, we might still have a couple of interested parties ready to play. Dan “Jungleman” Cates offered Polk to choose two games and he picks one for a heads-up match. Shaun Deeb asked for an open invite to play heads-up mixed games if Matusow doesn’t wire the money over.
