Daniel Negreanu has revealed which events he will play in the 2022 World Series of Poker, following the release of the festival schedule last week. The six-time WSOP bracelet winner was in bullish mood and praised the WSOP team for “nailing” what he called a difficult puzzle.
Something for Everyone
Since moving to the Rio All-Suite in 2005 at the height of the poker boom, there has always been constant questioning on where might be an even better venue. Every year during the annual pilgrimage for the WSOP, players were commenting on how the property is starting to look more than a little tired. It was clearly time to move on and we look forward to seeing what kind of a festival we get at Bally’s in the summer.

Speaking to PokerNews, Negreanu gave some soundbites detailing what his plans are for the first ever WSOP to be held on the iconic Las Vegas Strip.
"It's a daunting task, but I think they nailed it. The WSOP schedule has something for everyone from low rollers to high rollers, big bet players and mixed game lovers! Plenty of fun events sprinkled in there and even something for the online grinders."
After posting his schedule on Twitter, Negreanu confirmed that his usual strategy of playing as much as possible is the current plan, with many back up events pencilled in on each day just in case of an early bust out.
"As usual, I'm going to put in a lot of volume, focusing mainly on the high buy-in events and kicking it off with a new tournament, a $100,000 Bounty event! The one I look most forward to every year is the $50K Poker Players Championship.”
The schedule includes 49 of the 88 bracelet events, mostly ignoring the smaller buy-in tournaments. No Colossus, Millionaire Maker or Monster Stack for the Canadian this year. Not even the Million Dollar Bounty where one player picks up a cool $1,000,000 just for busting one particular player.
Mixed games and high roller events are the clear favourite here, with the buy-ins totaling a huge $930,000 even before rebuys are mentioned.
