Boyd Gaming to Buy Online Gaming Tech Company Pala Interactive for $170m

Boyd Gaming is to buy Pala Interactive for $170 million. The American gaming and hospitality company revealed on Monday, March 28, that it has agreed to a deal that will close in the first quarter of 2023, and will be financed via cash and an existing credit agreement.

The deal was agreed upon through the Boyd Interactive Gaming subsidiary and will include all Pala Interactive subsidiaries.

Pala Interactive provides real-money and social gaming solutions to both businesses and consumers across North America. Niches include casino gaming, poker, and managed services.

Boyd Gaming president and chief executive Keith Smith said: 

β€œThe acquisition of Pala Interactive marks the next phase in the ongoing execution of our igaming strategy, providing us full control over the technology, development and customer experience. By integrating online casinos with our existing land-based operations, we will be able to further leverage and monetise our expansive customer database and the amenities of our nationwide portfolio of properties, driving growth in both our land-based and igaming operations.”

Pala Interactive chief executive Jim Ryan added that this acquisition sets the scene for the next phase of growth which will see development and execution of an igaming strategy for Boyd Gaming and the Pala B2B business.
